Has your fire insurance been cancelled? Has your home insurance rate doubled or tripled? Imagine if everyone who has been effected showed up to the meeting with the California Insurance Commissioner this Thursday night. We need to educate the Commissioner to educate Insurance Companies that defensible space works and that canceling insurance is going create an economic whirlwind and downturn in home sales and drive up the cost of affordable housing. Solution: ask the Commissioner to lobby for legislation which would require insurance companies to come out to the homes and do an inspection. If you don’t do defensible space then you get to pay for it.
